Why are your prices so much lower than the $10K+ in-home quotes?

Short answer: we don't carry the bloated overhead. Big in-home water companies employ thousands of door-to-door sales reps who drive to your house, sit at your kitchen table for two to four hours, and close on the spot. Their pricing has to cover huge commission stacks, "free water tests," national advertising, and corporate margins - often $5,000-$8,000 of pure markup baked into a single quote. We use the same (or better) components - Jacobi coconut-shell carbon, USA-made ResinTech resin with the WQA Gold Seal, ceramic-disc valves - just without paying for someone else's pressure-sales theater. That's why our pricing comes out roughly 1/3 of theirs.

Will this soften every drop in the house, and does the RO go under the kitchen sink?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The whole-home softener treats every drop of water in your house - showers, laundry, dishwasher, every faucet. The Reverse Osmosis system installs under your kitchen sink for drinking and cooking water. If you don't already have a hole for the RO faucet, our installer will drill one so it's clean and convenient.

Does the RO feed the dishwasher and fridge line too?

It feeds the kitchen sink (drinking and cooking) by default. We don't recommend connecting RO to a dishwasher - RO water is produced slowly, so it would run out mid-cycle. The fridge line CAN be done, but the extra labor usually isn't worth it for most families. If you want it, just ask - we'll do it.

Don't you need minerals in your drinking water?

Yes - and we include an alkaline / mineral re-mineralization filter on every Recommended and Premium RO. Pure RO strips out everything (the good and the bad), so we add the good minerals back in for taste and health. Replacement filters are about $199/year.

What components do you actually use?

Carbon: Jacobi (coconut-shell, grown in arsenic-free soil) - the highest-quality carbon available. Most cheap competitors use overseas carbon that can leach arsenic and heavy metals back into your water. Resin: ResinTech, made in the USA, with the WQA Gold Seal (highest certification in water filtration). Valve: ceramic-disc - harder than the hardness in your water, so it physically cannot break down. Almost every competitor uses plastic valves that fail every 2-5 years.

What size tank does the system use?

Our standard whole-home softener uses a 10x54 tank with 1.5 cubic feet of capacity - properly sized for typical Georgia family homes. Larger homes can step up to a 64,000-grain XL tank in our Premium package.

Question 7

How efficient is the RO? What's the water-waste ratio?

Accepted Answer

Our RO runs at a 2:1 ratio - meaning for every 2 gallons we use, only 1 gallon is sent down the drain. That's significantly more efficient than older RO units (which were often 4:1 or worse). The whole-home softener and carbon filtration system has NO waste ratio - it processes everything at full flow.

If something needs maintenance or repair, do I have to find a plumber?

Does the price include installation, or are there surprise fees?

The published price (just $3,492 for the whole-home softener + RO - or just $97/mo at 0% APR for 36 months for well-qualified buyers*) includes the system, lifetime tank warranty, and professional installation - assuming your main water shut-off valve is in your garage (the typical setup). How is this different from the in-home water companies (American Home Design, Culligan, RainSoft, etc.)?

Their systems are fine - ours are the same quality or better. The difference is what you pay for. They send a commission-stacked rep to your living room for 3+ hours and quote you $10,000-$15,000+. We publish our pricing, do consultations by phone or 15-minute video call, and send a licensed Georgia installer when you're ready. No follow-up barrage.

Question 11

Do I really need a softener AND an RO?

Not always. The softener handles hardness (scale, spots, dry skin, eczema flare-ups, dingy laundry). The RO handles taste, smell, chlorine, disinfection byproducts, and contaminants in your drinking water. Most Georgia homes benefit from both, but we'll tell you honestly if you only need one.
